Company History

Tracing our roots back to 1989, Torrential Data has designed, coded, and maintained large, complex database applications, including document management and workflow systems, for organizations of all sizes.

Throughout the mid-1990s, we developed custom imaging solutions for such high-profile companies as:

• Reynolds Metals Company (acquired in 2000 by Alcoa, the world's leading producer and manager of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum and aluminum facilities).
• Ferguson Enterprises (the largest distributor of plumbing supplies and pipes, valves, and fittings and the third largest distributor of heating and cooling equipment in the U.S.).
• Virginia International Terminals (the second largest general cargo port on the East Coast of the United States). Read the case study

We leveraged the technology framework developed for these customers to release the first generation of our document management application in 1997. Since this first release, our document management and electronic workflow technologies have enabled medium and large organizations in the public and private sectors to proactively manage their highest volume, most complex, document-centric processes.
