Each Datahaven SDK offers a wide range of advanced ECM functionality that you can embed directly into the existing UI of a data-centric application. We have further enhanced the functionality available with each Datahaven SDK by developing add-ons and offering extensions that create additional functionality, flexibility, and value for your content-enabled solution.
Fax server solutions, such as those available from RightFax, FaxBack, FAXmaker, and many others can function as a powerful, secure tool to manage high volumes of inbound and outbound fax transmissions. These solutions, however, were never designed or intended to function as a long-term repository or as a sophisticated workflow solution for fax images and their metadata.
Fax gateway for inbound and outbound faxes and metadata
Datahaven’s fax integration enables your data-centric application to operate as a gateway for all inbound and outbound fax transmissions and their metadata related to the transactions and other records managed by your application. The Datahaven content repository stores and manages all of this content and metadata at a granular level independent of the records in your existing application.
Extends advanced document management features to all fax transmissions
By keeping content and its metadata distinct from any underlying record, your content-enabled application can support advanced document management features. For example, your application will be able to route faxes through Datahaven's workflow engine using its intelligent routing of records to workflow queues based on multiple data elements (e.g., fax number, called number DNIS/DID, caller ID/ANI, or selection made at the digital copier before scanning). In addition, your application can redirect this content and data back into the Datahaven repository for automatic indexing and storage which produces numerous benefits.
Customized outbound fax packages
Users can create customized outbound fax packages by selecting many documents and/or pages within a specific document or documents.
Cover pages, annotations, and multiple document types
Users can add cover pages and annotations from the documents and users can attach one or multiple document file types, including Word, Excel and PDF files and have the entire package rendered and sent via fax.
Automated archiving of faxes and fax metadata
Outbound fax queues on the fax server no longer need to be maintained to show proof of sent faxes. Instead, after the fax has been sent, a copy is sent to the Datahaven repository for storage, including all its metadata such as outbound and recipient fax numbers, date, time and success status codes.
